Goo Barber Academy is a Youth Mentorship Program that teaches the youth the trade of barbering.
The program was established in 2001, runs for 8 weeks (June 17, 2024 to August 2, 2024) and provides hands-on training in:

* Trichology (The study of hair and scalp)

*History of Barbering
*Mentorship & Leadership Skills

The Art of Fading
Students will learn fading, which is when the barber uses a staggered tooth clipper to gradually work the length from long to super-short. If you want to have your long locks up top gradually disappear into nothing, a fade may be the cut for you
Youth Mentorship
Youth mentoring—a consistent, prosocial relationship between an adult or older peer and one or more youth—can help support the positive development of youth.
At Goo Cutz Academy we believe in the power of community and passing on and installing values to the next generation.
Barber Skills
The four separate skill performance tasks include haircutting, hair styling, hair color, beard design and coloring. An oral communication (Interview and Creative Design). Creativity is assessed in the creative cut and beard design, while haircutting is evaluated in the recreation of men's haircuts from a photograph.
